Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to drop everything and travel around
the world in 180 days? Wouldn't it be even better if you didn't have
to pay, or worry about the food? Does it sound too good to be true?
Well, it probably is for you and I, but not for a classroom friend!
This year, our classroom will have a very special friend, which has yet
to be named. This stuffed animal friend will have his bags packed and be
ready to go whenever someone offers him a travel experience. We will
be mapping his travels, learning a lot of geography and having tons of
fun! Our friend and his travel companions will be helping us to learn
about cultures, climates, land forms, vegetation and tourist attractions.
We will be in need of volunteers (families traveling during the school
year, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors and friends) who would be
willing to take our friend with them on their next adventure. We
ask that he is safely returned to our classroom with a pin for his scarf,
a photograph of our friend in front of a geographically recognizable location,
and a postcard. If you, or someone you know is interested,
please email
me. Our friend's adventure will start on the first day of school.
